The lost story of a young Canadian-born Chinese woman who, in 1931, defies convention and bravely faces the powerful, male-dominated Wong Clan Association in an effort to extract herself and her children from a difficult arranged marriage with a much older man.

Victoria So recently graduated with a BA in History from UBC. She directed this short documentary, her first film, as part of her final year of study. Victoria has served as a researcher and project manager, and created digital media for a number of projects in local Asian-Canadian history.
