Snack Sakura

Snack Sakura follows Canadian photographer Greg Girard across Japan in search of a woman. Meditating on memory, art, and life between cultures as he obsessively journeys from town to town, Girard’s quest is sparked by a single clue: “Last I heard, she was working in a snack bar called Sakura.”

Jia Li, Joshua Frank (Co-Director)

Jia Li is a documentary cinematographer, director, and editor. In close collaboration with other documentary directors and journalists, she brings a sensitive, intimate lens to stories of women, people of color, and spaces where cultures overlap. Jia is a founding member of the cross-cultural documentary collective HiLo.
