Astronaut

Astronaut, set in 1990s Vancouver, follows Tom, an eight-year-old Chinese-Canadian boy who loves space. After Tom’s father returns from working overseas, the family struggles to connect. Recognizing the impact of his absence, the father surprises Tom with a homemade spaceship that propels him into a new orbit of friendship.

Kevin Cheng

Kevin Cheng makes his Canadian directorial debut with the film Astronaut. With a film degree from Hong Kong and a diploma from Vancouver Film School, Kevin has worn many hats on set, contributing to his unique directorial style. Kevin is inspired by the greats in both Asian and Western cinema.
